Svyatoslav Vakarchuk spoke at the Wilson Center in Washington with a speech on “educational Marshall Plan” for Ukraine.
Investment in education will be the most efficient cost of funds for Ukraine, says the leader of the “Okean Elzy”. Vakarchuk, a semester studied at Yale University, argues that theoretical knowledge the Ukrainians are at a sufficient level. However, this is not enough: you must know how to apply them in practice. And most importantly – in practice: “At school we really need no specialties, and in identifying their calling, their competitive advantages”, – says the musician.
His “Marshall Plan” should change the way of thinking of Ukrainians, in which the teacher or the teacher is an absolute authority and let this authority to doubt.
